  • For some reason, I tend to frequent this place a lot, even thought I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I think it's the atmosphere of the place; there's plenty of sunlight, and the staff are always friendly. I can spend a couple hours here without feeling like I'm loitering or being stalked, and I once, after losing track of time, stayed past closing for 20 minutes and they didn't try to force me out (so, very friendly ;-) ). I've started to take a liking to the Iced Mochachinos from here, their Breakfast Sandwich is like Breakfast Crack (i.e. very tasty), and their Lemon Squares are reasonably priced and yummy (and gluten free). There's free wi-fi here (although you'll have to ask for the password), and my only complaint is that I wish they had more power outlets to plug a laptop in. No outdoor seating, but there is a parking lot out back. It's hard for me to say for certain why I like this place so much, but this is another place you may find me frequenting on 17th Ave if I ever need a quiet place to work on the laptop.
