| - I refuse to ever give them my money again!!!!! The electronics dept is the sleaziest salespeople I've ever met. They advertise how they will match online prices, but only if authorized online dealer by manufacturer. Then when I presented the authorized online dealer offer, if it wasn't on their own "list", they gave me flak, but eventually agreed. They then refused to do the no interest financing because they were matching the online offer. I asked the head of theTV dept why I should buy from American when they are no better than the online, and he said that I get to "see" the TV in the store. LOL. When I asked if they would throw in the 3d glasses like BestBuy, the salesman said he would but to hide it from the floor manager (just between you and me stuff). Sleazy. They are on commision and their interest is only the sale.
I did buy a TV stand, and had to look at 3 of them as they each had minor chips. To their credit, the guys in the warehouse as well as the head guy with exchanges were just great in letting me look at a few and taking the best one that had a few minor chips and they would send out the furniture repair guys to fix. I said fine because it was a nice cabinet.
Then it got horrendous. The repair center is in Waukesha, and sets up dates and times without any input from you. And only in the daytime mornings and early afternoons. I requested later afternoon, was told a date and they could likely do 5-7 pm. Then I get a call they will show up at 10 am. I told them that wouldn't work, and was promised later. The repair call center supervisor told me they can't do that, someone should have never told me that, and there is a "note" there denying my request for a later time, they can't promise a time, only a window, and they could offer me 945. This is for their "workflow" and clearly not for their customer. Customer service for furniture repair should be called Customer Nonservice as they clearly do what is best for them. I then get a call the next day from a repair guy telling me he will be there at 945, and I told him I had cancelled with their call center so they didn't even let the repair guy know, who are independent contractors.
So ya think I'm gonna spend almost 3k on a TV at a place that treats its customers like this BEFORE the sale???? If something went wrong after the sale, like happened with the tv stand, how are you going to be treated?
Caveat emptor is their attitude. Let the buyer beware. The 1star is for the head of returns and the ware house guys at the store, who treated me well re getting other tv stands in for me to look at. Otherwise it would be 0 stars for the tv dept including the head guy there, and their Customer Nonservice center in Waukesha.
