  • I know I said I wasn't a fan of your standard Chinese buffet, but this one isn't what I'd call standard. I'd call it pretty freaking good. If you go on the weekend, be prepared for a wait. The crowd is pretty typical for a buffet, complete with your big families with their packs of feral children. But during the week its less chaos--not always a better crowd but fewer of them. I was impressed with the quality of the food. They had several dishes that I went back for seconds on, not just stuff that looked like it had less chance of making me sick than the other stuff. The fried fish, of all things, was a stand out hit. The kung pao and General Tso chicken were good too. Usually anything breaded is to be avoided, it usually has tree rings from being re-battered and refried for recycling on the buffet. I didn't find any of that here. The veggie dishes were fresh and crispy, not cooked to death. In fact, anything that I thought looked like it'd been sitting too long was replaced with fresh by the time I went up again. Now, the Mongolian style fix your own was lacking in that they used their pre made sauces instead of what you mix yourself. And the sushi didn't look like anything I was willing to risk. Other than those minor issues, it was very good. I would go back and eat there again, just not on a weekend!
