| - Chic small lobby with convenient tables and power for computers, and comfy seating areas to meet friends. The adjacent Urban Farmer restaurant is great, which is good since the *only* other food option in the hotel is a Starbucks. Tip: go past the Starbucks into the connected office building and turn right. There's a little breakfast/lunch place called Al's that has omelets, etc. It's only open weekdays, but is a good find for people craving something more than coffee.
This Westin is basic, the rooms are as expected, nothing fancy. The bathroom (no tub, no vent fan, dim lighting) was decorated in an unfortunate combo of tan and teal with blue & white tile, which some practical person probably didn't want to replace during an upgrade.
NIghtstands by the beds had convenient power outlets. Wi-Fi was good. Room had a safe on the lowest shelf of a cabinet. There was no way to use it except by crawling on the floor. And it locked me out and I had to call Facilities to open it, but the guy arrived promptly and was very helpful.
The Westin is a short walk to the Convention Center, especially if you figure out the secret back exit by Starbucks.
