Fletcher Canyon
Info...
*1.90 miles to the end (about 4 miles round trip)
*Steady incline from the trailhead to the end
*Trail is clearly defined
*Easy to moderate
Fletcher Canyon is mostly uphill from the trailhead to the end. It's not steep, but it's steady. The path to the end is easy to follow with options to stay on the trail or hike through the wash when it's dry. Just be cautious if you decide to hike through the wash. Some rocks are slippery and it's very easy to twist an ankle if you're not watching your step. Most of the hike is shaded and cool. It also becomes cold when you're in between canyons. The hike dead ends at a big boulder named Obstacle Rock. Here is where you'll see the popular rock chute or water chute, depending on the season. This is the end and a great place to stop, take a break, and grab a quick snack like peanut butter. It took us about an hour to get to the end and about 40 minutes to get back to our car. Fletcher Canyon is a nice hike and I recommend it.
