  • Won't be back! I was looking for a new place to take my husband for a birthday celebration; I found ipic Theater and thought I would give it a try. I purchased the tickets online. The website doesn't explain the details very well of how the place works. I had an option of picking Premium seats or Premium Plus seats. Premium seats were $34 for the two of us and Premium Plus seats were $74 for the two of us. I could not figure out what Premium Plus offered that would make going to a movie theater worth $74. I purchased the Premium seats (I'm not cheap just couldn't see spending $74 on a movie). We arrive at the theater after searching for a parking place for quite some time. The movie attendant greeted us and let us know that we had Premium seats and that if we wanted any food or drinks we would need to stop at the concession stand and pick those up before entering the theater. My husband and I were shocked that we had to get our own food and drinks. We had just ate at Maggiano's so we didn't want food anyway so we were fine with the self serve but still wondering why we paid $17 for ticket that we don't even get wait service. We find our seats in the Premium section (E row). The seats are a nice distance from the screen but wait....these seats don't even recline. As we sit there watching the movie we realize that our headrest is pressing our head forward and we are getting a neck ache and my husband even got a headache from the way the headrest pushed on his head. My understanding from talking to people (which I should have done ahead of time) is that if I would have got the Premium Plus seats they would have reclined and I would have got a pillow and blanket (not into the reusable blanket and pillows). In addition we would have received free popcorn and waiter service. Why would I go back to this poorly thought out "upscale" theater when I could go to the Esplanade at the Biltmore pay less ($12.50 a ticket) and have a waiter/waitress bring me my food and drinks and have a very comfortable reclining chair that my husband and I are able to snuggle in (chair arms go up). I can even go to Arrowhead AMC and have a very comfortable experience. iPic Theater is not what you would expect and not worth the money.
