| - I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of the restaurant on this past Sunday, and it was great! Being the sister restaurant to the magnificent eeZ Fusion in Birkdale, I had high expectations... and I was not disappointed! I talked to owner Marcus, met another owner, Allen, and made a new BFF with Deborah, their most gracious service manager. The bar staff is the best!!! Shout out to Pat, Jason, Josh, Dave, and Sarah... The decor at the former location of The Counter is fun and bright with very cute canvas wall art. I dined on blackened tuna nachos for an appetizer, and a delicious broiled grouper topped with blue crab, served with sautéed asparagus and yellow squash and kaffir lime butter laced pasta as my main course... so magnificent!!! While I was tempted to partake of their spirit (liquor) spiked ice cream milk shakes, I refrained since my mouth was primed for a yummy creation I saw being served to various patrons throughout the restaurant. Indeed, "The Mousse is Loose" is a huge portion of chocolate brownies with chocolate and vanilla mousse, and is a sweet indulgence for the eyes. However, when it was time for me to indulge... the mousse was definitely loose, and had left the building! They ran out of the decadence!!! Oh well, I had the apple pie wontons which proved to be a formidable substitute, especially when topped with vanilla ice cream... yum! I look forward to my next visit, as I enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. I wish them all the best on their new culinary adventure. And when I return, perhaps I will eat dessert first!
