I took my husband to the er because of intense pain, never once were we rude or demanding. But after 6 hours of not knowing why he was being admitted and never speaking to a dr I began to ask to speak to one. We arrived to the er at about 9:30am, the hospitalist arrived at 7 pm. We were told by a nurse before the dr arrived that my husband was scheduled for surgery for the following morning. My husband nor I had any idea of this scheduled surgery, when the dr arrived all he knew was my husband was in pain and a specialist would speak with us sometime. When I asked him about the surgery he stated "oh hmm I don't know let me see". Then all dr said was yeah you are scheduled but that's all he knows. They then wanted us to sign a release right away for the surgery which I said "no" until we knew exactly what was going on. The staff for the exception of 3 nurses that attended to my husband were not understanding whatsoever, no bedside manner and we couldn't get straight answers when we needed them. On day 4 before his second surgery again we didn't know what that surgery was going to consist of only knew he was scheduled for one once again. When we told the nurse we would feel more comfortable speaking to a dr she said she would get one for us prior to signing the consent. A dr came in right before he was supposed to be taken back and immediately said "why are you being difficult, I don't understand what is difficult about signing the consent to get you in surgery and out of the hospital" she went on on and on about how difficult my husband was being even though he never bothered nurses when he didn't need them and always kept his composure. After this experience we will never step foot in this hospital, it was the absolute worse experience of all time.
