| - This is an "ok" aquarium experience. It's not the worst I've been to, but certainly not the best. There is nothing really revolutionary about this aquarium, nor unique - just very typical. I feel the Butterfly Wonderland is a better deal, and better done.
The aquarium was crowded and certainly over priced, it is just not worth the $35 price tag per person, by all means only go if you can get a sale on the normal ticket price or don't bother. Honestly, I will not be going back to this attraction, it is just not one of Arizona's best.
The only feature of the whole visit that was fun was having the penguins walk down the main walkway, but even that had hiccups. One, no one knew what was going on. Two, the event backlogs foot traffic, so once the penguins go by it is nearly impossible to see anything else because it's so crowded.
I love otters, and of course for that particular visit I could barely see them as they spent most of their time up top. Most of the enclosures were rather small and the tunnel was short lived.
They do have a panoramic carousel theater which was ok. Seats were tight for leg room, and I had people constantly kicking the back of my chair (again, I imagine because there was no leg room). The views were nice, but the narrative was rather corny and overly scripted.
The parrots were pretty, but I didn't exactly go to the aquarium to see parrots either..
At the end of the visit you can pick up three photos in a fancy booklet, for the price of nearly $40! Overpriced much like the tickets and gift store.. thanks but no thanks.
