| - This is a small restaurant, but they do take reservations. There is inside and outside seating.
Our first visit there found us ordering a few things to decide what we liked.
We ordered the cucumber salad and shared it - nice crisp cucumbers. The toppings were sparse and the cucumbers were sliced a bit thick for us (you almost have to cut them in half to eat them), but overall, good flavor.
We also ordered the tomato and mozzarella salad. A good variety of different types of heirloom tomatoes, but the mozzarella, again was very sparse. The flavor was flat. The mozzarella is house pulled so we expected it to be very rich, but I think it would be good on a pizza. To eat plain it had no flavor at all. We expected the heirloom tomatoes to have a real rich flavor, but they did not. They almost seemed as if they were not fully ripe.
Full bar with a happy hour.
Free and easy parking in the shopping center.
The wait staff assistant asked us if we wanted bread, only to come back to our table to tell us the kitchen had not baked any bread. An hour after we arrived he brought us our bread which was hard and over baked. By then we were already 1/2 way through our main course.
My husband ordered the hamburger with cheese and bacon. It was a nice burger but was served on a plank and it was hard to eat. House-made chips were good. Our complaint about the hamburger was that the hamburger meat was tough. For $14.00 it should have been a tender and juicy hamburger. There are plenty of good burgers in Scottsdale for under $9.00!
I ordered the salmon dish, it was nice. The piece of salmon was a fair size. The only complaint here was there was too much sauce on the dish. Should have ordered any sauces on the side. For some reason Chefs like to drench their food in their creative sauces!
We ordered the pumpkin brûlée for dessert. Big disappointment. The brûlée was very grainy. The sugar top was hot and the brûlée was lukewarm. Not a good combination. The cookies served with the brûlée were tasteless and a very odd color. We both looked at each other wondering what we were eating.
Cappuccinos are served with a little cookie which was nice.
Waiter was very efficient and checked in with us often.
It gets noisy there, it is a very small space inside. If you want quiet, eat outside, but know you will have the road right next to you to contend with.
We would probably go back for Happy Hour, but would not return for dinner - when it was all said and done for two salads, two entrees, two cappuccinos, one beer, and one dessert $200.00 is pricey when everything was not "really good" or "excellent".
