This review wouldn't let me give ZERO stars. If I could, I would. It's a shame too, because this used to be a favorite safe bet for good cheap Chinese food in Markham. Until my most recent visit today. I ordered one of my favorite dishes - baked seafood fried rice HK style with cream sauce. I spooned some into a bowl, ate it happily, and went in for a second helping. As i scooped more into my bowl, i saw something that almost made me puke. There it was... a big brown dead insect in my bowl. I immediately hailed down a waitress and pointed it out to her. Even she made a disgusted face. She cleared away the violation quickly and came back to ask if I wanted something else. I had lost all appetite by then and the last thing I wanted was something else out of that kitchen. I asked for the bill instead. She came back and said my meal has been comped, including the HK tea I had. If they had made me pay for my baked rice with a side of bug, I would have made a scene.
It's quite a shame that this has scarred me enough to not return here ever again. I know eating out has its risks. I have probably eaten a few bugs unknowingly in the past, but ignorance is bliss. If I don't see it, then I'm fine with it. But having the creepy crawly right there staring me in the face (not literally) has turned me off Kenny's Delight forever. Luckily there is no shortage of choices at First Markham Place.
Eaters beware... Spoon out your food here carefully with a sharp eye. Good thing I don't have a weak stomach. Otherwise i would have thrown up in my seat.
