  • HOLY MOLY! I just called to schedule an appointment for my husband AND I AM SHOCKED!! I gave them my husband's date of birth. The scheduler, Amber, put me on hold for TEN minutes (I should've known something was up); when she came back on, she refused to schedule an appointment for my husband because of the yelp review *I* wrote in 2014! I asked how she knew about the review from pulling *HIS* chart........ Get this--because the information about MY 2014 yelp review is in HIS chart!! Whaaaaaa??? Violation of HIPAA anyone? Don't write anything other than five star reviews on here or anywhere else lest you and YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY get banned from their office...yes, they banned all of us, including our son, my mother, and any relative. WOW. WTF. ------ ((And office manager & staff, if you're reading this, which is highly likely, all you had to do was say "oops, we made a mistake" or "sorry this is taking so long" in 2014....or instead of violating HIPAA laws and writing my review in my husband's chart, you could have called him and said, "Hey, I'm sorry your wife had a bad experience at our office. We'd like to make it right because we value you as a patient. Could you please ask your wife to update her review with your family's experience of our office the next time you come in?" FYI--this is called customer service. It's also called being PROFESSIONAL.)) ------ Patient history: When I last saw Dr. Harlan in Dec. 2010, he dismissed and misdiagnosed my foot problems. One year later, after finally seeing an orthopedic surgeon, I was diagnosed with a bilateral cavovarus deformity, bilateral torn ligaments/tendons, and Charcot Marie Tooth disease. In 2012, I underwent reconstructive surgery on both my feet and can now walk without frequent falling and tripping. I know I have serious foot problems...more serious than the average person. So, I don't blame Dr. Harlan for not being able to diagnose me. But I did not go back to him because I knew he didn't know what he was looking at with my feet. It was only when I took my son into him in 2014 that I wrote the yelp review below and in regard to his office staff. I never took my son back to him either because the topical medication Dr. Harlan prescribed was inappropriate for a toddler--the pharmacist questioned it when it finally got filled. Instead of using the cream Dr. Harlan prescribed, I took my son to a dermatologist and received treatment. Only my husband continued to see Dr. Harlan...that is, until now.
