  • We always go to Jiffy Lube and have great experiences, this is just our first time at this location. I went in for an oil change and a smog check to get my registration done. While they were doing the maintenance they called me over to look under the hood of my car and showed me that we had the wrong battery. While they were showing me one of the guys (Phil) broke off our bypass hose. Even the guy that was underneath the car was like "hey something is leaking now!" After I checked out they told me that they had called the dealership and the dealership said "oh it's okay to improperly put it back together just for the meantime." And that I had to order and pay for the part that they broke, myself. The person who broke off the hose told me to just bring the part and he'll put it on for me, but we still have to pay for the part ourselves. I had to leave and I ended up calling the 800 number for Jiffy Lube to let them know about this experience and that I thought it was wrong that they charged me full price for my services and wanted me to pay for a part that they had broken. Come to find out Phil Gordon is the actual store manager of this location. Well while I was on the phone with her, I noticed that on the checkout slip it says that the bypass hose was broken upon arrival. WHAT?! No, it definitely was not. How would I have even driven my vehicle to them with this hose completely broken off, how? I drive back up to Jiffy Lube and here comes Phil, "did you get the part?" I was still on the phone with Jiffy Lube customer service so I told him that I would just be a minute. After going inside he said, "If you're filing a complaint on me I'm not going to do the work for you. All this time spent complaining and arguing with me... Fine I'll just do it. Just bring me the part and I'll reimburse you. If you file a complaint then my manager gets involved and then I get in trouble." This whole time I'm on the phone with customer service and as I'm leaving he tries to tell me, "Oh it was already like that when you got here." I just really cannot believe the experience we had today. We've never had any experiences like this with any other Jiffy Lube we've ever gone to and it's not okay for them to tell you not to file a complaint.
