| - I have tried a few different types of yoga but there's something about Bikram that really captured me.
When you walk in the building, there's a place to leave your shoes. Then you sign in at the desk and head to the locker rooms. There are no odd smells- it actually smells great, thanks to the juice company next door, it's also very open and industrial looking. After you're all unpacked, you head into the studio. The studio is pretty large- hard floor, high ceilings, mirrors on two walls and a bright orange wall on the side.
If you've never done Bikram before, it might be intimidating but the instructors at Yoga Factory review the class list and make you comfortable if it is your first time. It's 90 minutes, 26 poses, 104 degrees. I honestly love the repetition and the heat! Each instructor is a little bit different in his or her teaching style, but all are encouraging. I am a runner and would consider myself pretty inflexible, but they encourage you to keep coming to improve. They also now offer a few different classes, which I would be curious to try.
Come in, keep an open mind, prepare to sweat, and reap the benefits after.
