I am having a hard time rating this hotel, but have decided on a 1 star which means I'll never stay here again.
I arrived late Wednesday night (1230a). I got my keys from the front counter and was off to my room. As I approached the building (16) I noticed a strong curry smell from 50 yards out. When I opened the door - it was a disaster; dirty dishes, unmade bed, linens everywhere. I immediately went back to the counter.
Vern was VERY helpful and understanding and immediately gave me a new room. So I'm off to building 22. Again with the curry smell. I went into my room and it was very clean and made up, however the curry smell was SO BAD! I had an important meeting the next morning and could not afford to show up smelling like a chaat house.
Vern explained there are many Indian extended stay residents who regularly cook, and to be short - every building is stained with the smell. I asked for one more room attempt in a building on the opposite side of the property.
Finally, building 7 was made up and clean - there was no curry smell but there was a strong smell of mold or mildew. At least this wouldn't stain my clothes. It was now 1am. I've been tired walking around in the heat between buildings and finally I said F* it.
To Vern: Thank you for trying to help out.
To the Hotel: Get professional carpet cleanings between smelly guests
To the smelly guests: How rude.
