This property gets two stars because of location and the fact it's a Starwood property.......However the staff and Property itself are not indicative of a Westin. The property is finally being overhauled but a good deep cleaning should be done in the interim! Their are cobwebs around most light housings, dusty shelves and bottles near the seating area by the bar. The grounds are covered in dog poo (because its pet friendly) maybe they should take that $50 deposit and pay someone to clean up after the irresponsible owners! The customer service at this location is lacking with any semblance of what you would come to expect from Las Vegas, I'm guessing that because it's so far out of town their is not a lot of quality control from Starwood Corporate.
The upper pool was murky and full of unsupervised children. Attempted to get a Cabana at the upper pool and was later told they were over sold. I checked again while staying here daily and was told everyday that the cabanas were sold out, only to see each day between 2-4 units which were unoccupied and never used(I spent the entire morning and afternoon at the pool) And you better get up early if you want an umbrella !!! I watched a family literally set up 4 umbrellas over four chairs and when umbrellas became scarce these people refused to give up an umbrella ....even when asked by an elderly couple. Security and pool staff instead went around asking everyone else to surrender an umbrella, maybe some rules or guidelines might help this issue.
The Property is under renovation and the construction workers are being put up in the hotel, so when they tell you that the hotel is at occupancy take this into consideration!
I will be sharing detailed issues with Starwood Corporate in an effort to shed some light to what is happening to this beautiful property.
