Advice to all Pet Owners. If you love your animal you will not go to MVS.
8/22/16-I brought my collie in because he was short of breath. They were going to do IV fluid hydration overnight and check his chest X-ray and lab values. We walked into the office with the help of a sling on his hind legs. The next morning the vet called me and said call in the afternoon to pick him up. She said "his breathing was fine." I called in the afternoon and another vet said I could pick him up and take him home. I asked how his breathing was and he said "his breathing was fine." He told me my dog wasn't eating or drinking but I could make an appointment with a "respiratory specialist" because they are all over Madison. A dear friend wanted to talk to the doctor. When she did he said I should take him to the vet school to see a "respiratory specialist." We went to pick him up and they said we will bring him to the car. He was on a stretcher MOUTH WIDE OPEN GASPING FOR AIR! The MD told me nothing about his change of condition. When we got him to the vet school they rushed him in and by the time they got him on the exam table his heart stopped. They did CPR but he did not survive. I thought I was bringing my dog to a safe place. I was so WRONG and not only that they never informed me of his change of condition. They should be ashamed of the "care" they provided. My advice is don't go to MVS. Read less
