| - I was able to get my hands on some complimentary tickets to Gordie Brown's show last week, and off I went!
First- retail value stamped on ticket is $50, I truly don't know if anyone actually pays that or if most seats are comped/sold at discount rate.
At 7:30 pm on a Sunday theater was nowhere near capacity, and Gordie had a good sense of humor and poked fun at himself throughout the show about the subject matter.
Seats are very roomy and comfortable with attached cup holders, theater is intimate and you won't get a bad view anywhere.
The show itself is 1.25 hours, featuring a band and singing and impersonations by Gordie Brown.
Now, the show definitely targets an older audience. I couldn't name you one song Willie Nelson sang, never saw a single movie with John Wayne and have no idea what the charm of Julio Iglesias is.
All that said, most people are still more or less aware of majority of celebrities Gordie impersonates, through pop culture references and their iconic signature moves and style. You can still have a great time, even if you are not a biggest fan of say, Bee Gees.
Gordie does try to keep it relevant with adding bits from likes of Robin Thicke and Donald Trump. He's funny, engaging and energetic and if you don't get hung up on one or two references you don't get, you'll likely have a great time.
