Had high hopes for Braddock's as I had dined here once before and had a great experience. Their bourbon list is great, and their dessert (a berry crisp with cinnamon ice cream) was delish. Otherwise we were disappointed. First disappointment was that I had reserved a booth only to find out when we got there and they brought us to a regular table that they did not reserve one for us. The food was not great this time either - may have been rushed in the kitchen as it was a busier night. The waiter talked me out of the ribeye steak that I had last time saying that the pork chop blows it out of the water. I went for it thinking it would be similar to the amazing pork chop that Casbah serves. It was ok - very tender (almost too tender), but did not like the flavor combination. My father-in-law ordered the kielbasa platter and the kielbasa came out dry and the mustard had literally crusted over and hardened a bit to the plate. When he asked for new mustard and showed the plate to the waiter, he didn't even offer to get a fresh one, but instead asked which mustard he would like brought as a side. He needed all of them because obviously the plate was made up way too early and they were literally hardened onto the board. Yuck! The beet salad was good, but I'd call it a salad with a little beet added rather than a beet salad. When it comes out you can't even see that there are beets there, they are just a thin layer at the bottom. Would order this again because it was quite good, but not what you are expecting when you order beets. My mother-in-law had the fish special and it was awful. She didn't even eat it. My husband ordered the salmon and it was ok, but smothered in a sauce that we did not like. If we go back it will probably just be for drinks and dessert! The atmosphere is amazing - love the looks of this place. The wait staff is pretty good as well. The entrees really are the disappointing part which is a shame because this restaurant has so much potential! I'd recommend better/fresher ingredients so that everything doesn't have to be covered in a heavy sauce. A few tweaks and I think this could be a great spot!
