  • I have never been a big drinker, so shocks me more than anyone how much I enjoy this liquor store. Besides a great retail location - it is a source of entertainment for me!! First, it is open late. Since I spend most of my awake hours on the wrong side of midnight - I'm happy to shop at places open late. This Liquor Depot went thru a major renovation a few years back when they absorbed the old Blockbuster Video store into their store They used the extra space wisely and increased the brand selection. I must confess that I have on more than a few occasions, stopped by this location after a nite of music and just browsed the aisles for wines, spirits and liqueurs that are new to me. I am definitely someone that would purchase something just because I love the bottle! Been there, done that!!:) They always have my favorite... well I call it champagne, Graham says I'm wrong - it's just sparkling wine. Who cares what it's called - they always have ASTI for me. My eyes went wide the first time... actually every time... that I walk by the BAKON Vodka. Just spent this past weekend watching Coachella music festival online - 3 days of BAKON Vodka Ceasars. The best!! Graham is not so fortunate - he enjoys McNally's beer and it seems to be never in stock. Not sure if they don't sell enough, or sell to much. Usually have to go somewhere else to solve that need. They do have a wide variety of scotch - which is Graham's other weakness. For his last birthday I spent more dollars on a bottle for him then I ever believed I would. Seriously - after 2 drinks, does it really matter. Apparently it does. Anyways, bought this bottle - Graham won't open it - it went into the collection. Graham and I have collected mini-bottles (hmm - don't actually know what that size of bottle is called!) for 27 years. For years we could not find any new ones - this store now usually has something our collection needs. The centre aisle, the length of the store, always has interesting specials on an assortment of items. I have yielded to temptation a number of times and have been pleasantly surprized. Staff is always friendly, always helpful - no matter time of day. Besides offering a loyalty card - you know, buy 4, get the 5th free... wouldn't that be nice!! There is nothing I would change in this place. I love it. :)
