Horrible service; real rip-off artists
Went in to have a noise investigated in the front end of my 2007 Civic. Salesman immediately tried to upsell me to have some expensive bumper-to-bumper service done. I explained that i was getting rid of the vehicle in a couple of weeks and only wanted the noise identified and fixed; nothing else.
Once they completed their inspection they called and explained that a small stone had gotten into the brake mechanism on the front driver side, and that this was the cause of the noise. They said it would cost $230 to fix. I again reminded the salesman that I was getting rid of the car and just wanted the bare minimum done; was this really necessary? he said yes, this really needs doing.
When I came to pick up the car and read the bill, I was shocked to see that they had serviced all 4 brakes.
They charged me for work I did not authorize.
When I called the dealership to complain (spoke to a woman named "Frieda"), she apologized but did not offer any refund or other compensation.
This is NOT the kind of service I woudl expect from the service department at a major dealership. I will NEVER darken the door of Markham Honda again, and recommend that others stay away as well.
