  • B - List. This is a nice place to visit from time to time for specific items and a few whims.The product line has appeal for most. Items come and go, displays and products shuffled around the store. Some sections of the store never really change much at all. The prices can be somewhat to significantly better than the competition. Many products, however, have marginal price power at Costco. The smart shopper knows what products to buy at what price to get the bargain. The caveat here is, in many instances, one must purchase in bigger sizes and/or multiple items. Then there is the notion that in buying in bulk people purchase more than they need. Service is bare-bones. The tire service centre, in particular, is anything but people friendly - long lineups in the morning, no truly fair and organized way to queue people in line (a person appears out of nowhere to yell: Well who is here for tires? Next question: Who is first here? He then proceeds to hand out sequential numbered tags to anyone that will walk up to him and say I was here first - true story), long waits to get the paper work done, tires incorrectly installed from time to time. There is a membership fee. So love Costco with all your heart just be sensible with your shopping and expectations.
