| - Having the worst eye sight on the planet, -10.5 , I have always had to have an eye doctor "on call". Lol. Ok, I know there are worst than me. Mornings are spent with the phone an inch from my face. My husband laughs, of course he does not understand that blurry vision exists and the struggle is real.
Moving is always cumbersome but the aftermath of establishing care prolongs the agony. So here I go. Found this place, made an appointment and felt positive. I had my previous doctor fax in my last annual appointment so they can get a basic idea of my issues, what kind of contacts I wear etc. I called the new office and confirmed they received it. Sweet. Now to wait for the appointment.
Appointment day. Staff is friendly, offices were nice and it was easy to find. Dr. Neff was very thorough and professional. I mentioned I had my records faxed in and she said they did not have them. Dr. Neff left temporarily and returned confirming they did not. Ok, fine. I stated I would call after my appointment to have them faxed again. I did get a little irritated when asked the brand of contacts I wear. I told her that's why I faxed my records. She understood and proceeded with the appointment.
I mentioned that due to my coverage and high prescription I should qualify for free contacts for a year. She stated that she did not have much luck with obtaining that but she would try. I found this odd as my coverage does not vary state to state and I also checked with my plan and they stated that it had not changed. After numerous calls by myself and Dr. Neff to my carrier and previous eye doctor, it was determined that Dr. Neff was not inputting the information appropriately to obtain the status of "medically necessary". Long story short, I know too late, I got free contacts and her other patients in similar situations are now eligible. WIN WIN WIN!!
Although there was some frustrations, overall, Dr. Neff is great at what she does and the staff is nice. Now that everything has been established, it should be smooth sailing next time around.
