| - I'm finally in that situation where if you could give fewer than one stars to leave a review, you would. Yesterday I checked into the Hyatt Place, the hotel that was part of my Travelocity package. The rude staff was my first clue...they told me they'd already checked me in because the hotel was getting overbooked and I had been at risk of los by my room. This room was fully prepaid and I'd called to say my flight arrived late and I had to go directly to the hospital. There was no orientation to where to find things at the hotel, not even a word of "welcome." The only thing I was told, after saying I was there to visit my mom, who is in hospice care, was that there was a discount for a casino, if I "thought I'd have time." SMH
After spending the day at a local hospital visiting my Mom, I returned to find a disgusting temporary abode. The "food" in their "24 hour" market was disgusting--I've had better at a middle school cafeteria. You can "order" the food (sandwiches, wraps, frozen pizza and "flatbreads") by going to the lobby, asking for a menu (and getting basically ignored for ten minutes while the employees talk with each other), placing your order, and then you're told you can come back in 20 minutes to get the food. Cutlery you ask...that received a disparaging harrumph as the woman searched through an unclean basket of plastic utensils, ketchup...not even acknowledged: she walked away and came back in 4-5 minutes (yes, minutes) with a handful of smashed packages. There was no place to leave the packaging trash in the room, so I placed it on top of a trash container by the elevators. 15 hours later and it's still there.
The surfaces in the room are filthy. I spilled a little water on the area around the coffee maker and used a napkin to mop it. The napkin came away dirty. Hanging on the back of the bathroom door was a used towel...with BLOOD stains all over it.
Even the toiletries and toilet paper are low budget and sparsely provided. One small soap, one shampoo, and one conditioner--for two people--nothing more. The TP is rough and thin.
Fortunately Travelocity helped me with canceling the prepaid, non refundable price, although I had to pay for the first night. Stay far away from this hotel...it's trading on the name of a decent chain with a really sub par property.

When we checked out, a very professional and courteous young man, Jay, helped us and in total candor, his attitude helped immensely.
