Nationwide Vision on Watson Rd in Buckeye is the pits.
Went for a contact lens exam. OK on the exam but the SALES pitch is over the top. I have worn Acuvue 2 contacts since they came out-over 10 years. BUT this doctor wanted me to try one month contacts at 3+ times the price. NOTHING I could say would change her mind. So out the door I went with a $200 bill for the exam and receipt for a 6 month supply of contacts. I left with TRIAL pair of contacts.
It is now one month later. I hate these new contacts. I have also not received the 6 month supply I paid for.
So I called and wanted the old Acuvue 2's back. Dr says she will only prescribe Acuvue Oasys which are twice the cost of Acuvue 2.
I contacted Acuvue and UNLESS I am having dry eye problems (I am not), Acuvue2 is a perfectly satisfactory lens.
Profit motive??? You betcha. Their Acuvue Oasys are $39.99 per box (6 two week lenses). 1-800 Contacts sells them for $27.99 per box. Acuvue 2 contacts are $12-17 per box depending on where you buy them.
I am now stuck with a $200 RECEIPT for a prescription I don't want and no contacts.
I live 100 miles one way from Nationwide Vision in Buckeye. They even told me I had to drive in there just to pick up the contacts I DON'T WANT.
Not a place I will do business with again and I have contacted my bank about the charge and will contact both the BBB and the Arizona Board of Optometry.
