| - my mom was admitted here( after an 9 hour wait) as her cardio md works out of here. the ER attending seemed concerned and ordered the usual for her symptoms, but somehow between then and 5 days later, it really went downhill. the 4 north nurses were 'ok', one night nurse was good, the others seemed to write her off. one actually said she refused treatment when my mom did not refuse her medicines, she just requested them to be a little spaced out because given back to back, they were giving her chest pain. what i feel was really bad (no stars) were the hospitalists (who were several) who didn't order necessary work up tests for her lungs and left it up to her and me to demand diagnostics. as an example, she came in because she could not breathe easily, chest pain and yet it wasn't until day 5 of failed treatments that we had to demand a pulmonary consult.
In summary, I have to say that 2 stars for the nurses, 0 stars for the hospitalist, 3 for the ER doctor. Who to blame for the 9 hour wait to be admitted on a monday night? heaven knows.
patients have too much of a choice these days to get such bad service/care. I do not recommend this hospital, perhaps banner may be a better choice.
