  • I had a broken window in my vehicle that was getting fixed down the street and Macleod Trail is a dusty highway of limited food opportunities just around here, 'very industrial. The Blind Beggar Pub popped into my view and the outdoor patio with it's little flags surrounding it seemed welcoming. It was a hot day and stepping in, the air conditioning was most welcome. It was just before 4PM and the place was almost mine except for two or three other couple on this Monday afternoon. Two TV monitors were at a comfortable audio setting with your choice of the London Olympics or a soap opera. The waitress was pretty and very nice as I explained I had limited time before having to get out to pick up my vehicle. I chose the food special of the day, 'a steak sandwich and a classic Gunn and Innis beer. They have a good selection of exotic beers. Service was extraordinary. I had my meal in 5 minutes. Very good medium rare steak sandwich with super fresh accompanying side salad for around $5. and my beer was about $6.5 and not on special. I had a comfy booth seat with a window to the patio and road ahead of me. I was checked on however not bothered and felt like this was a sweet little business. They do have live music now and again and the music booth was just in front of me for evening music I suppose. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly!
