| - This lovely studio is nestled in the heart of downtown Shadyside, among a few other yoga studios on Walnut Street. I discovered it through an online search and, of course, trusty reviews by my yogi peers on Yelp as I was in Pittsburgh for business for a week. I purchased the two-week pass for $25, which is competitive with other studios in the area. I had a variety of teachers and took classes at different times of day (weekend, morning, and evenings). All the teachers were great and had their own 'flavor' that they added to class, which ensured that there was a good variety in poses and styles that made every session a pleasure to attend.
The heat is set to about 100 degrees for the heated classes (most of them are heated according to the schedule). It is a dry heat with At my home base in Philly, I rarely attend heated classes so it caught me slightly off-guard; however, towels are provided free and water bottles are available to purchase, as well as tap water to refill if need be. I have to say, I have a love-hate relationship with heat. It definitely makes you feel like you are working harder, but the downside is that the heat makes you feel like you are working harder. Catch my drift?
The best thing about this studio is the students and teachers share a mutual admiration for each other and at the end of class, they all clap in appreciation, which I thought was adorable.
