I was flying back from Vegas when my flight got cancelled. Instead of staying in an airport hotel, I decided to check this Hyatt out so I can walk around downtown and explore Phoenix a bit.
I was able to use a Diamond upgrade for the stay. However, there was some trouble at check-in. The front desk manager said the room I had booked was unavailable - Comicon was that weekend and they had so many check outs in one day that housekeeping didnt have enough time to service all the rooms rooms!
I specifically needed a room with a separate bedroom and living room, which is why I used the suite upgrade. Anyway, the front desk manager kept saying that the room was unavailable, and after a bunch of going back and forth a bunch of times, I decided to take the "smaller room".
Much to my surprise, the room was HUGE. Guess what? It had a separate bedroom and living space. And a kitchen. And 2 bathrooms.
I called back the front desk manager and she seemed shocked. She finally admitted she has "never been in any of the rooms", which seems quite weird since shes the FRONT DESK MANAGER.
All in all, this is a good stay within walking distance to 1 cool beer bar and 1 cool speakeasy type bar.
Plus, the room was incredibly massive. Request room 420 if you can.
