  • The fam had a great time at the zoo - we got the general admission tickets for $25 with a minimal AAA discount (always ask!) - you can get pricier tix with ALL the extra experiences (ie camel ride, giraffe feeding, etc.) for closer to $40, or you can pay for them a la carte inside the park. Once inside, here's a top 5: 1. Goat exhibit on the rock - yes, it's a hike, but you can see this rock from the whole park, and the goats that perch on top in what has to the the closest thing to a natural habitat in the park, pretty epic. 2. Walk through bird exhibit - just navigate the double doors for containment, and you're just walking right with the birds! 3. Safari Exhibit - giraffes, ostriches, water buffalo, etc, all together - the giraffe feeding is an off-shoot of this exhibit 4. Orangutan hut - there was a baby orangutan, nuf said! 5. Lego Exhibit (Fall 2016) was pretty impressive (see photos) I was impressed with the cleanliness (at least compared to other zoos), and here's my tips for going with kids - strollers (can rent at the gift hop) or baby carriers are a must for 6 and under unless you want cranky kiddos by the afternoon, and you can bring coolers, carts etc. and bring your own food (we let the kids play in a playground area while we retrieved them) - you can spend 4-6 hours here without any of the extra stuff - a full-day if you go all out. There are people carriers and carts available as well, not sure what circumstances are required for those, but it's alot of walking - I suggest avoiding the summer and going in cooler months when the animals will be moving around - days off school or weekends in the spring and fall - less crowded.
