| - Girls night on a beautiful September evening led us on an adventure for outside seating. Driving down Butler Street, there is was: A rooftop adventure at New Amsterdam. We were so excited to get a table on the roof. Seating is limited, there may be 4 high tops and a few low tops. The outside has a countertop lining the perimeter so that you can do the cool-lean and have a drink. (The barstools are pretty uncomfortable, so try and grab a low table.) Pretty diverse crowd, hip and young professionals, happy hour and social hour.
We just had drinks. The draft list is pretty diverse. Some locals, east coast, west coast, dark, light, cider, etc. Something for everyone.
This place (the upstairs) was busy, like super busy. (Actually now that I did some research, it must have been one of the first few days that it was open.) The servers seemed overwhelmed and drinks took some time, but the awesomeness of being outside made up for it. I am sure New Amsterdam is just working out the kinks and crushing the dust off. Go check it out.
Tip: The bathroom is in the basement. Go when you get there, 2ish flights of steps to potty.
