Naturoll is a great addition to the ice cream scene in Pittsburgh. While "rolled ice cream" may be a passing fad, Naturoll backs it up with quality. The cream used for making the treat is smooth and creamy, with no hint of ice as may be expected. Naturoll also has a nice variety of ice cream options, with pre-designed inspiration or make-your-own. The staff is also more than willing to make adjustments to please patrons as needed!
The reason I am only giving Naturoll 3 stars is for two reasons:
First, the ice cream is expensive. I realize the work that goes into making each treat is much more intensive than the typical ice cream shot, but I find it hard to justify $15 for two ice creams for my husband and I.
Second, the space is small and awkward. While I love the style of the reclaimed Lawrenceville look, there is often not enough space for people to wait for their order to be made. Additionally, the exit door is situated right next to an ice cream station, and with the door opening inward there is not enough space for someone waiting for their ice cream to be rolled, and for someone else to exit.
