I'm usually a Southwest fan. I fly them weekly for business, but took a personal trip today with my children; I'm less than pleased with the result. The gate agent would not allow me to take my 3 year old daughter on with me (I'm A list preferred, and had a high A#). She instead suggested (loudly and rudely) that she (the 3 year old) "wait until her C19 pass came up - and that if I wanted to get on in my position, she'd have to stay behind."
Really? I should leave a 3 year old by herself?
So instead I waited. Now we're on board, but had to sit in different rows, and my daughter is crying because she can't see me, and we're about to take off so I can't help her. Thanks Southwest.
Business travelers, if you're earning points to take your family on vacation, consider that you may not be sitting together to get there.
I flew over 100 flights with Southwest last year. Maybe next year I should go with another airline.
