  • I was a huge fan of Sweet Olenka's until today. My boyfriend and I have been frequenting it since it opened last summer. Last summer alone, we probably would go every other day (I'm not kidding). It was good portion size for a premium price -but well worth it. We would get the double($3/scoop). Now, if I am going to pay $3 per scoop I want a real scoop at LEAST the size of a tennis ball. Today, I literally was shocked into silence when she handed me a double scoop that was just a little larger than 2 golf balls on top of each other (I wish I had taken a picture)! When I have been coming here for over a year now with scoops the size of baseballs- that would take me my whole walk home to finish -to having finished today's cone literally in 5min! A huge, huge disappointment! My boyfriend was horrified that he had to say something and asked about the meagre portion and when we got the reply "Yeah sorry, the manager asked us to scale down on portion size..." If that is the case, I am NOT going to pay $6 for a less-than-child-size cone when I can walk up the street and get a large ice-cream sandwich for the same price, or walk up to College street to get a gelato. You can't change the portion size after loyal customers like myself, have been coming to your establishment for over a year! To me, I feel like it's a money grab. They know it's busy, so why not? If the scoops are going to be this small (literally, golf ball size), I will most likely will be going up the street. Sorry!
