| - Here is how my " $5K residential (interior) experience" was from start to finish. Job was to scheduled to start on Monday, June 13, 2016 @ 0700 and finish on Friday, June 17, 1700. I received a courtesy phone call in the late afternoon on Saturday, June 11, 2016 explaining that the crew who was assigned to start my project was running over on another customers project and that my project would be delayed until later in the morning on Monday so they could finish up work. Okay, no problem. Monday morning comes and goes. I received a call from the job foreman that they are on the way to start my project around 1300. A crew of only 2 guys showed up on site around 1415. The house was empty, no furniture, carpet, etc as the project was to paint the entire interior, (ceilings, doors, kitchen, most closets, garage, bathrooms, all rooms except two bedroom walls which I would paint myself). House is 2,515sqft. To my surprise they sent a "crew" of only 2 people - the foreman and another painter! The foreman and I walked the property going over the details of accent painted walls and I gave him a key to the house so he may come early or stay late to make up time lost since having to push my project back - but soon enough, Monday became a wasted day as the crew of 2 taped off the master bathroom in about 45 min and then had to leave early to "pick up the paint for the project". They vacated the property around 1515. At this point my expectations were beginning to sink. My job as a firefighter required me to be on shift for the next 48 hours (0800 Tuesday thru 0800 Thursday). Luckily, I had the alarm system set up before the project began because I was able to see the time stamps of when people entered/exited my property via the ADT pulse app on my smart phone. The crew would show up at 0700 and would end the day at 1500. Never came in early or stayed late even though they had a key and nobody was residing in the empty house - oh, and the fact that now the project essentially started on Tuesday. While away on shift for 48 hours my expectation was that AZ Painting Co would've increased the crew of 2 to maybe a crew of 5 or more. Especially, since there was nobody staying late or starting early. I show up at the property on Thursday morning around 0900. I spoke with the foreman about the status of the project and was expecting to hear that it was back on schedule. Boy was I wrong! To my disbelief, it was still only a crew of 2 prepping, taping and painting the entire house. The foreman who was always professional looked very stressed. I asked the foreman where they were on job completion. He said, "no way can this be done by Saturday close of business". He also tells me that since Tuesday morning, he has been trying to get more painters assigned to my project to help him and the other painter out but he was denied each request due to the company being "thin" on personnel and the amount of "other" jobs. As you can imagine, I am visibly upset. I ask him when he believes my project will realistically be done if he doesn't get the man power needed. His reply was "next week Tuesday". I immediately called AZ Painting and explained the situation to the staff. I was told that they couldn't get anybody out to help out the crew of 2 at my property until the following morning BUT after communicating with the owner Joe, I was promised that the job would be completed by Friday close of business. The next morning (Friday) at 0700 there was now a crew of 6 who busted their tails to complete the job as promised. By 1630 guys were finishing up touch ups and cleaning up. We walked the property and uh oh, an accent wall was not painted. I pointed this out and the foreman tells me that he "forgot" and that he "doesn't have enough paint to paint it anyway BUT the company would send somebody to finish it up - and that they'd call me to try and schedule it". This was an opportunity for him as the Foreman to step up and try to make things right by going and getting the paint, staying late and FINISHING the job - as promised. But no. Needless to say, the SAME foreman was scheduled to come out and finish the accent wall on Thursday @ 1400. Fast forward to Thursday 1430 - I'm pissed. No phone call - nothing. I call AZ Painting Co and calmly ask where the painter is? She tells me she is very sorry and says that she would call him to find out what the hold up is. I was told that he wouldn't be able to make it out to finish the job and was wondering if I could reschedule!!! I explained to her how this was unacceptable! She was very professional and sympathized with my experience. I was put on hold again and this time I was speaking with the owner Joe. The foreman showed up at 0700 the next morning to complete the job. Now that the project is finished, here is my truthful review as I promised. The positive out of all of this was that Joe was willing to try and make things right - not once but twice and for that I couldn't rate with only 1 star.
