This is not a negative review about slow play, because all courses (at times) slow down.
It's not a negative review about shaggy greens and overgrown course conditions in the wake of overseeding because you take a chance when you play golf in AZ this time of year...even though Coldwater was borderline not playable today.
No, this is a warning to players who want the course to have rangers out to police slow play. On this day, there were none. And the course was filled with slow playing idiots who weren't being policed. This course management didn't care about those of us who want to play in in less than 5 hours. Our first encounter with a ranger was on the 17th hole ... THE 17TH HOLE!!!! By that time the our round had been stopped dead by the jerks in front of us who had to compare notes on every tee with their buddies in the group in front of them.
Sad.
Coldwater is at the lower end of greens fees charged by Valley golf courses . You get what you pay for.
