  • I love Fashion Optical. I've been going there for about 25 years - yeah, I started wearing glasses young :( The store used to be on Dundas, but has been in Dragon City Mall for many years now. Mr. Chan, the owner, is in his 70s (or so he tells me) and is a hoot. He's very nice and friendly and always cracking jokes to make you laugh. Sam, one of the staff there, is more soft-spoken and serious, but also really nice and patient. He's fine with letting me try on almost every frame in the store before making my choice, lol. They have an excellent selection of frames and very competitive prices. Their craftsmanship is superb. Even after I wasn't living in Toronto anymore, I still went back to Fashion Optical to get my glasses, since my parents still lived in Toronto, I would just get them to pick up my glasses when they were done and I would get them from my parents. However, now that my parents have also left Toronto, I go back less often and my trips are shorter (since I no longer have a free place to stay, lol), and the logistics of buying glasses in Toronto while living in Ottawa is now just too complicated. This will be the first year in 25 years that I will be buying glasses elsewhere. This makes me a little bit sad, which speaks a lot about Fashion Optical.
