My boyfriend and I recently visited the spa to celebrate our birthdays and college graduation. We received a gift card for the Time Together Retreat, which includes an 80 minute massage, a pedicure and 2 lunch entrees. The best part was definitely our massages. We were together in the couples room and it was relaxing and cozy. My massage therapist was Michelle and she was amazing! She focused on the areas that I needed to be worked on and did a great job on the rest of my body.
The pedicure was fine but not worth the price. When I got home, I realized that the inner part of my foot was stinging badly. I looked at it and noticed that it had been scratched up by one of the exfoliating tools. It has now been a full day since the experience and my foot is red and scabbed up. A pedicure is meant to make your feet look and feel nice, not worse. I would certainly not go back to the nail salon again.
The lunch menu was small and not very interesting. I ordered a steak sandwich that I didn't end up liking. I wouldn't bother paying for lunch if I ever went again.
My biggest complaint with the spa is the front desk. The girls at the front desk gave myself and my boyfriend judgmental looks when we came in and didn't make us feel welcomed at all. Then there is the service fee that is automatically added. The person who gave us the gift card said that the tip was included in the package price so we wouldn't have to worry about it. You can imagine how shocked I was when I saw an additional $100 added to our bill at the end of the day. I was confused and mentioned to the girl that the tip was supposed to be included and she said she would take care of it. I appreciate that she didn't make a scene out of it, but I still felt embarrassed about the situation.
I would be hesitant to return to the spa. Although my massage was wonderful, the rest of the experience has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
