Finally got to see the old "Skydome" that I heard about so much as a kid. The Rogers Centre is not that bad, especially on a cold spring day. I preferred sitting inside the RC drinking beer than in any of Toronto's many old, worn-out, divey pubs. Too bad there is that crap Budweiser everywhere here. Not enough craft brews.
I was surprised to see so many staff members checking everyone's ticket in every section as they entered, even up in the nosebleeds. It was a bit much... on a night when the place was only like 10% full they should just send most of the ushers home and let people sit where they want (as they do @ the Cell in Chicago).
Getting to the stadium from the subway is a pain... Toronto is very easy to navigate by public transport but to get to the RC from Union station, you have to walk a pretty long way through a maze of creepy, dark walkways and tunnels. Doesn't feel convenient or modern at all. Just a nuisance.
Eventually, they will need to implode this place, like the Metrodome and the Kingdome. They should probably look to another locale to build the new stadium. Keep it in the city, but maybe on reclaimed land near the water (ala San Fransisco's stadium).
