Unfortunately, I have to knock off a couple stars after my most recent visit. I had a headlight out on my vehicle. I just wanted to inquire about price to replace it. Apparently that information is not available in their computer system and a headlight can run anywhere from $30 to $100. So I was told I should go to Autozone, buy the headlight and come back to Big O for them to install it. I believe the labor rate I was quoted was about $60. So I guess Autozone has computers that can tell you what light is needed for a particular year, make and model of a vehicle whereas Big O cannot.
Now, I realize my vehicle is foreign and Big O specializes in tires but they are a full service auto repair shop as well, and I should know as they have been happy to take my money in the past for both my foreign vehicle and my American one.
As I was driving away I noticed another shop in the same complex called European House for Imports. I decided to stop and inquire there. Good thing I did because $30 and 20 minutes later I drove away with a new working headlight.
My disappointment with Big O stems from the fact I feel they could have handled this differently. Even just suggesting I check out one of three or four other shops in the parking lot, especially the one that specializes in foreign cars, might have been helpful. Instead I just got the sense they didn't care. I did tweet about my experience and Big O did reach out and Tom the manager did call and leave me a message. When I returned the call he was not there and I talked to Jeremy, who I believe also said he was the manager. Honestly, I think Jeremy might have been the one that didn't assist me the day I went. Will I go back to Big O as a customer in the future, not sure at this point.
