This was my first visit to the dealer. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change. they proposed "Recommended Maintenance" well in excess of $300. Since I get my tire rotations done at Costco for free and follow only the maintenance outlined in the drivers manual, I wound up with an approximate bill of $50.00.
I was told the work would take an hour and a half despite having made a reservation a day earlier which was disappointing. I told the advisor I would be waiting for the vehicle. Unfortunately I sat there for 2 hours and 15 minutes before following up with the service advisor. Despite looking irritated with me for asking, he did check to find out the work had actually already been completed. I left the dealer having spent about 2 and a half hours for an oil change and exterior wash.
Who knows how long I would have sat there for no reason if I hadn't asked and was put off by the advisors initial reaction. I did not receive any acknowledgement for their mistake, but just a "Thanks and come again" .
The work seems to have been done correctly and have had no issues so far with the workmanship.
My lasting impression is that they are simply to busy or overwhelmed to track their workflow effectively. Perhaps they could implement some kind of tracking system so they follow up based on a timeline when they schedule work with their customers. That might give the customer a better impression of their time being valued.
