  • Oh, so sad. Since my early 20s I've heard so many great reviews about Wicked Spoon so for years and years I've always wanted to try it but never did until this past trip. My mom earned enough slot points to receive 2 free buffets so we FINALLY got to try Wicked Spoon for dinner. In retrospect we were both so glad we didn't actually pay the $42 price because we would have been supremely disappointed. Things started out well: absolutely no line at 7pm (maybe should have been a sign), and cashier, hostess, and server were very nice -- everyone asked where we were visiting from, explained the buffet, and greeted us warmly. On to the food: In a way I feel sorry for Wicked Spoon, which before Caesars' Bacchanal was probably the best buffet in Vegas. Now, they are struggling to keep up. There were tons of empty tables here and food sat under lamps crisping away. There's still effort here, but not enough to stay competitive. Highlights: -Crab legs (I didn't eat any of these as I was spoiled by the ones at Bacchanal and didn't want to crack them myself) -Tons of tiny plates: nice presentation but entirely too many items used tiny plates, including: fried chicken, pot pie, grits, pasta x 5, potatoes, vegetables -Carving station: this sat pretty empty - I tried the prime rib here and it was basic -Salad station: interesting presentation. There was one juice, a cranberry-apple blend, offered at our dinner. -Fried chicken: First round, this was one of the best thing. Second round and new batch: these were overcooked and dry. -Lots and lots and lots of pasta -Asian food: good oxtail broth and spicy clams, but overall nothing impressive -Dessert selection was creative but not amazing I struggle between 2.5 and 3 stars but rounded up for creativity and presentation. In anticipation of eating here for the past [nearly] decade, I really, really wanted to love this place -- and Cosmopolitan is such a great venue/casino I really want them to do well. Unfortunately the buffet, especially on a weekday, isn't where it's at and you'll be better off spending your $42 + tax + tip elsewhere.
