Was just stopping by to briefly walk around the quad, check out the Lincoln center and admire the revamped alma mater (was taken down for repolishing). We visit every few years to check out the old stomping grounds and see what had changed.
Amidst all the financial scandals, the Lincoln theater does look quite impressive. Classes were in session so we couldn't see be main theater but the hall was quite nice. The little courtyards house the bricks bearing names of the donations. I was expecting a large wall with hundreds of donors but it looked a little sad seeing so few bricks engraved. I suspect they are hoping for the coming years to add to it, as the alumni list grows but from the looks for it, most of it was very old alumni and nothing newer than the class of 2007.
Some of the bricks looked unsteady on the bumpy ground. Hopefully no ones brick breaks.
The quad looked dead in the freezing cold mid-April winter with empty trees but green grass.
The foreign language building looked cool with a indoor courtyard, albeit an older building.
The bell tower in the mathematics building was unfortunately closed. We missed the narrow window of 12:30-1 pm, for a tour.
Parking was challenging even just to find a metered spot.
The area around has grown quite a bit with big high rise apartments and a new Marriot (TownePlace suites) on Green and new restaurants, but all catered toward the college student.
