| - I had a birthday get together here this past Saturday and the staff and drinks were above and beyond. I was surprised at how well everyone treated us, they put every other server/bar tender in this city to shame. There was a small mix up as to which area of the bar I had reserved and it was resolved quickly and professionally by the manager.
We were seated in a beautiful wide leather booth along one of the walls, with a low table to spread out drinks and appies. Glass water bottles were placed on a lazy Susan, and spread out over the table with small glasses. We ordered the Charcuterie and Cheese plates. While all was delicious, the in-house made spicy spread was so good, I'm seriously going to try to buy a jar. They also house-made all the side chutneys for the cheese plate, as well as a hot mustard for the Charcuterie.
The drinks are well executed, unique and delicious. I had the London Clocktower, the Chateau Cassis, the Cucumber Basil Smash, and one of the best dirty vodka martinis ever. Can you say smoked olive? The bartender also concocted a special birthday shot for me based on the previous drinks I'd ordered.
Their staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and apparently the owner has a penchant for high quality gin, so there are many gin-inspired cocktails from which to choose. Our waitress, Christie (sp?) also had the wherewithal to individually bill everyone so that there were no uncomfortable moments when it came time to pay - she gets a major thumbs up for that one.
Most of my friends had never been there before, so they made about 15 new loyal patrons. I can't say enough!
