  • I've now tried Uncle Tetsu cheesecake twice, and I just can't get into it. I've always been an avid cheesecake chomper so I was eager to try this place, but be warned that it's not your average cheesecake. That's not to say it's "bad" per se, it just wasn't my style. The japanese cheesecake is much more of a souffle with a very eggy taste. The texture is quite soft and pillowy too. It was decent for a bite or two, but I couldn't commit to a whole slice. It's just not the firm, cheesy, sinful cake that I love. Call me a fatty, I'm okay with it. Also, an hour wait? Really? If the cheesecake hadn't been purchased for my office by somebody with clearly much more time on their hands than I do, I would never wait an hour for a slice of sweet eggs. Overrated.
