Just moved into town, needed a manicure, went to this place based on these reviews & I wish I hadn't. Back in my hometown I used to get the dip powder. Not many know what this is because it's still growing but my home salon offered it & I loved it. Since I can't find anywhere here that offers it I decided to just give gel polish a chance. I went into Nu Nails & they kept insisting to me that my nails were acrylic when I knew they weren't; They were my natural nails just dipped in color powder. The beauty of the dip powder is that they don't need to drill your nails down for it and it's just over all better for your nails. the way my old place took it off was simply soaking it off just like gel polish, and I tried to explain that to the man doing my nails, However he had me soak my whole hand in a bowl of acetone instead of wrapping each nail and then he filed & drilled healthy nails down so now they are extremely thin and brittle. I had my nails really long but decided I wanted them a little shorter again. He clipped all of my nails to a good length but it's too bad none of them are the same length as each other and he for some reason clipped the sides so my nails look crooked. My skin is extremely dry on my hands now since he made me soak them for 30 minutes in acetone & my gel polish has already chipped one day after I had my manicure. Oh also while my nails were in the light the man doing my nails put the acetone I soaked my hands in back into the bottle which I'm pretty sure isn't all that sanitary. I definitely won't be headed back here and suggest that you don't go either.
