I will never live a this property or rent from this company EVER again! During the time I lived there, I had my truck broken in to (stereo stolen), A/C didn't work for several weeks during the summer months which required me and my two kids to stay elsewhere, exterior lights on my building were out for almost two weeks (Sept. 2013), office staff had high turnover, killed nearly a hundred roaches (no exaggeration), lots of noise from Scottsdale road and from some neighbors, dishwasher went several months without being fixed because someone on their staff didn't order a part, more dog shit in landscape areas than I care to elaborate on and the pools were dirty nearly every time I tried to use them.
Utilities are included but there appears to be no way for them to accurately meter your individual unit. They must divide the building usage up and split it between all units. My bill was typically $85 per month (for 650 s.f.) despite the fact that I was only home 50% of the time. Finally, they charged me rent AND utilities for the two days after I turned my keys in because of their stringent 60 day vacate policy. I was out of town during the Labor Day weekend and put my 60 day notice in on September 2nd and turned my keys in on October 31st as indicated in writing. They feel collecting an another $81 dollars for two days of rent AND utilities was more important than my satisfaction. It's important to note the new lease/vacate notice wasn't received until after September 1st, making it very difficult to comply with their policy unless you are one of the few that happen to remember these kind of things. It wouldn't surprise me if this intentional. A reminder 90 day prior to the end of lease would be recommended but obviously not as profitable for management. I haven't seen my deposit and since they are asking for more money I assume I won't. I would not recommend living at Scottsdale Gateway.
