  • This boutique hotel has become quite popular in the five months that they have been open. First time we came was back in February, and we came back and stayed here again for the Phoenix ComicCon event. I still enjoy staying here. Some things to keep in mind: 1) The management tacks on $80.00/night on top of your already high nightly rate. The lady at the front desk explained that this was for incidentals, and will be released back to my credit card account. 2) There is a $25.00/day for valet parking. 3) When we stayed at one of the VIP suites on the 8th floor, the management inspected the entire suite prior to our check-our. So, if this is still standard protocol for Found:re as part of their check out process, do plan ahead and anticipate about a 20-30 minute wait for the inspection staff to come up to your room. So if you're needing to leave to go home or to catch a flight--please be aware of this policy of theirs. (ETA: I was told this policy applies only if you had a pet stay in the room with you). 4) I don't recall ever paying for our meal before we get seated at Match (their restaurant) when we visited in February. But this time, during Memorial Day weekend, we paid upfront first. It was a little disconcerting to have to write in a tip when the lady handed me the check. Especially when service was almost non-existent (I had to request two glasses of water since the server didn't offer it when he seated us). Paying $40+ for breakfast for two people should warrant prompt and courteous attention from the staff, of which we didn't get. 5) There are no bathtubs in our suite nor in our double bed room. Apparently there are none throughout this hotel. Be aware that if you're not showering carefully, flooding can occur in the entire bathroom. In our suite back in February, the toilet room was in a separate area, but in our double bed room the toilet area was also in the shower room. I still give Found:re the five stars because of the outstanding industrial architecture which to me is an original idea. Not to mention that local artists have their art shown in a gallery fashion, and the art seems to change periodically. And they serve Karma juice as well as pretty good coffee at their restaurant. The Keurig in the room serves one 8-ounce cup of java at a time. But I'm not complaining.
