| - I love magic shows in Vegas, but after seeing quite a few, I started to notice a trend - they were all guys. Where were the women magicians (beyond just the beautiful but quiet assistants?)
So when I heard about Jen Kramer's show, I was excited not only for the magic aspect, but because FINALLY a female magician. I've been pestering my friends about it for so long. They were probably glad I'd shut up about it now. But ha - jokes on them because now I won't stop talking about the awesome female magician I saw.
Seriously though, this is not only a really good show but surprisingly affordable and family friendly. The seating is pretty intimate in the Westgate theater so you get a pretty nice view. Jen does a great job of involving the audience all around, although if you're in the front you'll definitely get some interaction. She's extremely personable. She also came out before the show which was SUPER cool and I got the opportunity to gush about how awesome it was to have a female magician. It's very rare to see any show headliner come out beforehand, but I wish more did. She also stays after the show to meet with fans and take photo so there's plenty of opportunities to interact.
As for her show, it's jam-packed with tricks and they move along quite nicely. There's a nice variety too, mostly involving props and cards. I don't want to spoil anything - but I will say none of the tricks involved her sawing herself in half (although that would have been interesting). The night I went there, there was a technical mishap (not Jen's fault) and she did a great job improvising.
I feel that this show offers something for everyone, even if you're like me and have been to way too many magic shows (no such thing!). Also - the show is at a reasonable time. I can see it when I get off work but still have the evening free. Why can't more shows start at 6??
