  • ouhhhh myyyyy custard :O i mean, if you're in the area, why WOULDN'T you want to come here?! especially on a hot day?? especially if you love ice cream?? especially if you enjoy 1950s memorabilia?? especially if you like the taste of superior ice cream?? But in all seriousness, you just gotta try this place out at least once! It's not a common ice cream place - it's not really your traditional ice cream. It's custard.. it's waaaay better IMO. It's so thick and creamy! just the consistency that I like. it is soooo amazing and so worth the money you pay for. They let you sample the flavor of the day too! That's one thing that you should be mindful when visiting the joint, they only have 3 flavors on hand (chocolate, vanilla and the flavor of the day).. though they do have pints of their sweet stuff to go in different flavors. Last time I visited, I got a cup of vanilla custard with strawberry topping. it was - remarkable. i'm a pretty simple gal when it comes to my ice cream but I think next time I will expand my horizons a bit and try the concrete shake or add some pizzaz to my sundae! can't go wrong with Nielsen's ! oh and I just love the 50s vibe it has.. very nostalgic and the music they play is also from that time too.. it's like going back in time when in Nielsen's! I really do enjoy the ambience and the cute old folks that come in too for their custard fill.
